Critical thinking
Critical thinking is the ability to analyze information objectively and make well-reasoned, thoughtful decisions based on that information. It involves using logic and reasoning to evaluate information, ideas, and arguments, and to consider different perspectives in order to come to a thoughtful and well-supported conclusion. Critical thinking skills are important for evaluating information, solving problems, and making decisions in everyday life and in a variety of work and academic settings.
Beginner competence definition
Beginner-level individuals have a basic understanding of the concept and are able to apply it in simple and straightforward situations. They may be able to identify and evaluate basic information and make simple decisions based on that information. However, they may struggle with more complex situations and may not have developed advanced critical thinking skills.
Intermediate competence definition
An individual at the intermediate level has a solid understanding of the concept and can apply it in a variety of situations. They can identify and evaluate information from multiple sources and make decisions based on that information. They are also able to analyze complex situations and identify potential problems or opportunities. However, they may still struggle with advanced critical thinking skills such as identifying underlying assumptions and evaluating the credibility of sources.
Advanced competence definition
Individuals at an advanced level have a deep understanding of the concept and can apply it in a wide range of situations. They can identify and evaluate information from multiple sources, analyze complex situations, and identify potential problems or opportunities. They have a high level of skill in identifying underlying assumptions and evaluating the credibility of sources and are able to apply critical thinking skills to make informed and strategic decisions in a business setting.
