Managing and conducting internal and external audits
This capability involves overseeing and performing audits of quality management systems within an organization. This includes both internal audits of the organization’s own quality management systems, as well as external audits of suppliers, vendors, or other organizations that the company works with. The goal is to ensure that quality standards are being met and maintained, and to identify areas for improvement.
Beginner competence definition
At a beginner level, individuals with this capability should be able to assist in conducting basic internal audits of the organization’s quality management systems, following established procedures and protocols. They should also be able to assist in the preparation of audit reports, documenting findings and recommendations.
Intermediate competence definition
Intermediate professionals can lead internal audits of the organization’s quality management systems, working closely with department managers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. They should also be able to conduct external audits of suppliers and vendors, using established protocols and procedures to evaluate the quality of their products and services.
Advanced competence definition
At an advanced level, professionals are able to design and implement a comprehensive quality management audit program for the organization. This includes developing audit plans, protocols, and procedures, as well as overseeing the training and development of audit team members. They can also provide guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on improving and maintaining the organization’s quality management systems.
