Quality control and assurance (QC&A) is the process of ensuring that products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. It involves the development and implementation of procedures and methods for inspecting, testing, and verifying that products and services conform to established standards.
Beginner competence definition
At the beginner level, professionals understand the basic concepts of quality control and assurance, such as the importance of ensuring products and services meet customer expectations and the need to implement procedures and methods for inspecting and testing products and services.
Intermediate competence definition
Intermediate individuals understand the different components of quality control and assurance, such as inspection, testing, and verification, and are able to apply these concepts to real-world situations. They also have knowledge of basic QC&A tools and methodologies.
Advanced competence definition
Advanced individuals understand the strategic implications of different quality control and assurance decisions and be able to create and execute complex QC&A plans that support the overall goals and objectives of the organization. They have the ability to identify and implement advanced QC&A tools and methodologies such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, and total quality management.
