Intersectionality Awareness

Intersectionality Awareness is the comprehension and consideration of how combinations of different social identities - such as race, gender, and class - simultaneously interact and contribute to unique experiences of privilege or discrimination within diversity, promoting equity and inclusion in all organizational practices.

Level 1: Emerging

At an emerging level you are recognizing and beginning to understand how different aspects of identity intersect, and their significance to diversity, equity and inclusion within an organizational context.

Level 2: Proficient

At a proficient level, you are able to recognize and understand the intersecting identities and experiences that shape individuals' paths, allowing you to address complex issues of diversity and inclusion effectively.

Level 3: Advanced

At an advanced level you are able to deeply understand the interconnected nature of various identities and experiences, recognizing how they intersect to shape individuals' lived realities within the realm of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
