Network Basics

Network Basics refers to the foundational understanding of how data travels over the internet. This includes knowledge of different types of networks (LAN, WAN), network topology, IP addressing, routers and switches, firewalls, and basic network troubleshooting. It involves the ability to interpret, manage, and resolve network-related issues.

Level 1: Emerging

At an emerging level, you are familiar with the concept of a network but still need to acquire skills on how to connect, set up, and troubleshoot basic issues.

Level 2: Proficient

At a proficient level you are able to understand and apply network basics such as IP addressing, subnetting, and basic troubleshooting techniques to ensure smooth communication and connectivity within the organization.

Level 3: Advanced

At an advanced level you are able to design and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures, implement advanced security measures, and optimize network performance through in-depth knowledge of protocols and technologies.
