Health Literacy

Health Literacy is the proficiency in obtaining, interpreting, and applying health-related information to make appropriate decisions. It includes understanding medical terminology and concepts, the ability to navigate healthcare systems, and advocating for personal or community health needs efficiently.

Level 1: Emerging

At an emerging level, you are beginning to understand key health concepts, demonstrate basic awareness of health-related issues, and take preliminary steps towards practical health literacy in the workplace.

Level 2: Proficient

At a proficient level you are able to interpret and apply complex health information effectively, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and advocate for health literacy within your organization.

Level 3: Advanced

At an advanced level, you are able to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of complex health information, effectively communicate health issues, and advocate for health literacy initiatives within the organization.
