Patient Listening

Patient Listening is the ability to actively and empathetically listen to others without interrupting or rushing the conversation. It requires concentration, understanding, and respect for the speaker, demonstrating an openness to varying perspectives, and not forming conclusions prematurely.

Level 1: Emerging

At an emerging level, you are beginning to cultivate the skill of active, intentional listening, demonstrating patience during conversations and understanding the importance of considering others' perspectives.

Level 2: Proficient

At a proficient level you are skilled in actively listening to others without judgment, demonstrating empathy, asking clarifying questions, and providing thoughtful responses that show respect and understanding.

Level 3: Advanced

At an advanced level you are able to demonstrate exceptional patience and focused attention when listening to others, allowing you to deeply understand their perspectives and emotions while building strong relationships.
